Namasthe Telangana’s Poor Eye Sight On VHP Hindu Shakti Sangamam In Hyderabad

Namasthe Telangana, a popular Telugu daily in Telangana, has deliberately ignored in covering the news of yesterdays (28-December-2014) Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s (VHP) 50th anniversary celebrations under the title of “Bhagyanagar Hindu Shakti Sangamam” in the heart of Hyderabad, whereas all main stream newspapers covered the same event in the their main editions, respectively.

Nowadays its child’s play to understand which paper is running for whose political and management interests. But when a program attended by nearly 50,000 people and some prominent leaders like Pravin Thogadia speak issues relating to religious conversions, status of Hindus, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments tall promises and assurances based on religion deserve the necessary space and due attention.

Main stream papers like Eenadu, Andhra Jyothi, Saakshi, Deccan Chronicle and Times of India accommodated well in  main editions helping state readers to have a glance on it, but surprisingly NT limited to Hyderabad readers only, ignoring state readers, who love the paper as their own child.

The speakers on the stage were RSS general secretary Suresh "Bhaiyyaji" Joshi, Praveen Thogadia, Ganapally Raghuvulu Reddy, religious saints Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Kamalananda Bharath, Satyapadananda and many leaders more from different organizations and walks of society. These are very prominent and capable of influencing the society in their way as we are witnessing the rapid changes in the national and state politics.

Readers may agree or disagree with the statements from above leaders and the outcome and impact of the “Hindu Shakti Sangamam” on Telangana society or it can be left to the time. But an intent to not to inform the state wide readers and limiting this news item to Hyderabad district edition only raises suspicion and integrity of NT management and some prominent journalists who did some commendable job since inception as well as shouting on roof tops with “walk the talk” slogan else windup.

The birth of NT paper was grandly welcomed and applauded whenever it spearheaded enemies by revealing and exposing  many facts that were suppressed or kept out deliberately for years tagged as insignificant or irrelevant by some media managements especially related to separate state struggle and later on. But now why NT is changing its yardstick as per convenience which did not hesitate to question others whenever it got time and opportunity. Is it not fooling the readers and lovers of NT?
